The next conference of the International Association for the Psychology of Religion (IAPR) will take place from Tue 19 August to Fri 22 August 2025 at the University of Birmingham, UK.
The overall conference theme is: Highlighting the Cross-Disciplinarity of the Psychology of Religion.
Registration is now open until 17 July 2025: Visit the registration page to register for the IAPR conference 2025.
Outcomes of proposal submissions have been communicated and we are no longer able to accept submission for presentations.

Key dates
- 28 February 2025: Abstract submission deadline
- Outcomes have been communicated and we are no longer able to accept submissions.
- 4 April 2025: Travel bursary application deadline
- All funding for travel grants and registration waivers have now been allocated and we are not able to provide any further funding.
- 28 April 2025: Registration opens
- Please register as soon as possible. Once registered, the College Visa Team will be in touch with you to check if you require a visa invitation letter from us. The IAPR organizing team cannot issue any invitation letters.
- 19 June 2025: Accommodation booking deadline
- Register by this date to book discounted student accommodation. We recommend you register as soon as possible as rooms may sell out before this date.
- 17 July 2025: Registration closes
- All attendees (including presenters) must be registered by this date to participate in the conference.
- 1 August 2025: Release of the final conference schedule
- 18-19 August 2025: Psychology-Engaged Theology Sister Conference
- Note: The sister conference time partially overlaps with the pre-conference (i.e. the events will happen simultaneously; see draft programme here).
- 19 August 2025: IAPR Pre-Conference Workshop
- 19-22 August 2025: IAPR Conference
AssocIated events
There will be a pre-conference on the afternoon of Tue 19 August 2025, on the theme of Widening the Methods Toolbox in the Psychology of Religion.
Attendees to IAPR 2025 may also be interested in a ‘sister’ conference on Psychology-Engaged Theology. Both events will share a keynote on the evening of 19 August.

- IAPR Pre-Conference, 19 August 2025: 12:30-16:30
- IAPR Conference, 19 – 22 August 2025 (starting at 17:00 on 19 August)
Please note that the 2025 IAPR conference will be held exclusively in person; there are no options for online attendance.
